About The Virtual Race
Join Zebra Crossings for the 14th Annual Moms On The Run 5K this Mother’s Day weekend.
Please participate responsibly by maintaining social distancing guidelines. Find your preferred location that gives you space and map your own 5K route. You can be in the woods, in the park, in your neighborhood or on your treadmill. Please walk/run with your household herd only. This year, you can even bring your dog.
After you finish your 5K, you can upload your time to a designated source (TBA via email). We will raffle off 6 gift cards donated by Runner’s Alley among all entries. If you never won a 5K, you can be a winner this time!
Start & End Time:
The time frame for this virtual race starts Saturday, May 9 at 7:00 am and end Sunday, May 10 at 7pm. Winners will be announced that night!
Support Zebra Crossings:
The proceeds of this event will benefit Zebra Crossings empowerment programs for youth and teens with chronic medical conditions. This year, we are ready to adapt our programs if needed. If we are unable to engage in person this summer, we are committed to providing fun and engaging virtual programs. Your continued support for our mission will enable us provide a support community for our youth and give parents respite time.
Theme it! Dazzle Us! Share Your Pictures To Win
Did you know a group of zebras is called a “Dazzle”? On your virtual 5K, dazzle yourself and those who are part of your herd (household only please). Be as creative as you like- unite your “herd” with patterns, colors, or full costumes!
Post your pictures to the Moms On The Run Facebook page. Ten gift cards of $25 will be awarded for the most creative outfits or herds! Pictures need to include your bib to qualify for this contest. Winners will be announced on social media and be notified via email as well.

The Barrington Conservation Commission and the Southeast Land Trust of NH (SELT) are delighted to announce the permanent conservation of 135 acres to be added to the Goodwill Conservation Area, nearly doubling the size of that conserved land. It is all open to the public for passive recreational activities and snowmobiling on designated trails.
Properties formerly owned by the Haley family and the Stephan Rubinstein Trust now belong to the town and are protected via a conservation easement held by SELT. In addition to the donation of land value by the former owners, funding for the project came from the town, the New Hampshire Drinking Water and Groundwater Trust Fund, the City of Portsmouth, the Fields Pond Foundation, the Bafflin Foundation, and the state’s Moose Plate program.
The Goodwill Conservation Area is best known as the home of the Winnie-the-Pooh Trail. The addition provides those willing to venture beyond the friendly confines of the “100 Aker Wood” more of a chance to explore the varied geology and topography of this property, along with vernal pools and a huge beaver dam and pond.
In addition to the parking area on Route 9 near Richardson Drive, the town plans to build another parking area at the end of Ross Rd. for access to the property from the south. The Trails Committee will fix up and map the trails on the addition. Stay tuned for updates.
Mr. Edward Bear (aka Winnie-the-Pooh), a resident of the 100 Aker Wood, said “I’m so glad there is more room for Tigger to bounce. He loves to bounce, and since we need to do ‘so-shall-distant-sing,’ whatever that means, it’s better that he doesn’t bounce into others so much.”
So get out and take a hike, on Goodwill or some of the other trails in Barrington! If you follow guidelines about social distancing it should be a healthy and fun way to pass the time.

The Mission of the Seacoast Half Marathon:
Caring for the coast,”one step at a time” is our motto. Each year, we donate 100% of the net proceeds to a mindfully selected seacoast nonprofit organization. We strive to put on a well-organized and safe event that highlights the beauty of New Hampshire’s historic seacoast. We encourage all levels of athletes to enjoy themselves while also providing them an opportunity to significantly benefit our community.
