Colonial Dinner Celebrates Society’s 60th Anniversary


South Berwick, Maine- Old Berwick Historical Society's 3rd Annual “Colonial Tavern Dinner,” featuring the food, comfort, and entertainment of an inn and tavern ca. 1780, will be on Sunday, March 27, 2022 at the Red Barn at Outlook Farm on Route 4 in South Berwick. The evening begins with a cash bar cocktail hour at 5pm, and the dinner begins at 6pm. (Please note the different time for this year.)


Guests will be able to imagine traveling to old Berwick by stagecoach on dirt roads, enjoy the hospitality of the inn holder as he offers you his 18th century food and beverages. The meal will be prepared by returning Chef Julie Cutting-Kelly, owner of Cure, and Chef Lee Frank, owner of Otis and Lee Frank's, along with the chefs from the Red Barn at Outlook Farm.


“The society is celebrating our 60th Anniversary this year,” said Executive Director, Cari Quater. “Our 2020 dinner was cancelled right as COVID started to shut things down. We are excited to be able to bring it back this year, in time for our special anniversary.” The chefs have planned a three-course, historically based, 18th century meal featuring multiple dishes at each course served family-style. Complementing the meal will be beverages from Tributary Brewing Company and North Country Hard Cider.


Period dress is encouraged for guests who enjoy to dress-up; for others, dressy-casual attire is requested. Masks are optional. Tickets must be purchased by March 16, 2022 at Cost is $65 for members, $75 for non-members.
