Hidden: A True Story of the Holocaust presentation
At Barrington Early Childhood Learning Center
Join the Barrington Public Library at 6 PM on Wednesday, October 4th for a special presentation by Kati Preston, Holocaust survivor and author, as she tells the story that inspired her new graphic novel, Hidden: A True Story of the Holocaust. This event will take place at the Early Childhood Learning Center (ECLC), 77 Ramsdell Ln, Barrington. Open to the public.
Kati will recount the details of her early childhood in Nazi-occupied Hungary. 28 members of her family perished, including her beloved father. Kati is with us today due to the kind and courageous acts of one single person during the final stages of World War II. Her lasting message is to never underestimate the power of one person. Her story of overcoming the unspeakable atrocities of WWII resonates with people from all walks of life. Her message of hope and conquering hateful acts with love and kindness is a message for all of humanity.
She has visited middle and high schools, historical societies, teacher and administrator conferences, faith groups, and local prisons. The Barrington Public Library has both her biography and her new graphic novel Hidden on our shelves to check out. She will have limited copies of her book available at this event to purchase. Cash and checks will be accepted.
