Lions Club Contributes to Toy Drive
At Dover Firefighters Charitable Association
Local Lions Club Contributes to Toy Drive and Encourages Other Clubs to Join the Effort
October 2, 2024 - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford, and South Berwick has contributed $500 to the Dover NH Firefighters Charitable Association after a tragic incident destroyed the entire stock of toys meant for the upcoming holiday season. For the first time in 40 years, the Dover Fire Toy Bank faces the season without supplies to assist local children and families in need.
Along with their donation, the club challenged other area Lions Clubs to step up, inspiring Lions Club District 44H to organize a district-wide initiative to support the Dover Christmas Toy Drive. Clubs across the district responded, donating both money and gifts. A truckload of toys and financial contributions will be presented to the Firefighters Charitable Association at the November 10th Cabinet Meeting at the Castleton Conference Center in Windham, NH.
All participating clubs are encouraged to attend and join the presentation. (Email bbedrosian@comcast.net for registration information.)
Those interested in helping restock the Dover Fire Toy Bank can donate new, unwrapped toys or games for children ages newborn to 12, which can be dropped off at any of Dover’s three fire stations. Checks can also be mailed to DPFFA, PO Box 1004, Dover, NH, made payable to 'Dover Firefighters Charitable Association' with 'Toy Bank' in the memo line.
