TREX Bench Raffle for Charity

The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick is holding a TREX Bench Raffle for Charity

For Immediate Release:  The Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick (DRSB) Lions Club, through a very successful recycling effort, as part of the Trex “Nextrex” challenge, is raffling off a Trex bench to benefit their charitable initiatives this holiday season.

To date, the club has donated five benches to local towns.  The benches are made from recycled plastics such as grocery, produce, ziplock and pellet bags as well as pallet and bubble wrap and other plastics, which are collected by Lions Club volunteers at area transfer stations and other locations.  The collected plastics are weighed and delivered to a participating retailer and ultimately transformed into lovely benches complete with bronze plaques.  Each bench represents 500 lbs of plastic that would otherwise have ended up in our local landfills.

Raffle tickets are $5 or 5 for $20 and the drawing will be held on December 18.  QR code to enter can be found on our Facebook page link below.

The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick is a member of the Lions Club International, which began in 1917.  Their motto is “We Serve.”  The club gathers on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Cara Irish Pub in Dover to find ways to improve their community.
