Player sign-ups are now available for the Third Annual

Charity Corn Hole Tournament to be Hosted by Dover, Rollinsford, South Berwick Lions Club

The Dover, Rollinsford, South Berwick Lions Club is hosting its third annual Corn Hole Tournament on August 10, 2024 at The Barn at Dunn Farm in Berwick.  Funds raised will benefit local charity “Annie’s Angels” (www.anniesangels.org).  Annie’s Angels helps families struggling with life threatening illness and disabilities in and around the seacoast area.   

Last year the group raised $6,000 for Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Health thanks to the local business community that rallied to support the cause, including SC Digital, Seacoast Tree Care, Southers Construction, J. Lapierre Construction, Jayco Disposal, Key Auto Group, Kind Farms, Somersworth Nissan, High Effect Web Design, Insurcomm, Jennifer Halteman Insurance, Meineke,  BankNH, Kennebunk Savings, M&T Bank, and Servpro.

Turnout is expected to exceed 500 people, including players and spectators. Sponsors will be featured on T-shirts, banners, plus additional options.

The Lions Club of Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick is a member of the Lions Club International, which began in 1917.  Their motto is “We Serve.”  The club gathers on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month at Cara Irish Pub in Dover.

End of Summer Carnival

End of Summer Carnival with the Barrington Public Library on Saturday, August 17 at 12:00 PM. Celebrate the end of the summer reading program with a fun, outdoor carnival with games and prizes for Barrington Families. Bring your picnic lunch to enjoy in the field. There will be a bouncy house, face painting, glitter tattoos, games, prizes, and cotton candy! All Summer Reading Grand Prize winners will be announced at the celebration. You do not need to be present to win. Rain location will be in the Town Gym!

Cornerstone VNA Team Members Receive Top Honors

 

Rochester, NH – Cornerstone VNA is proud to announce that two team members received high honors at the Home Care, Hospice & Palliative Care Alliance of New Hampshire’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, which was held on June 18th at The Barn at Bull Meadow in Concord.

During the Alliance’s special event, Julie Reynolds, President/CEO of Cornerstone VNA, received the Home Care and Hospice Service Award. According to the Alliance, “This award showcases and celebrates true excellence and dedication to providing quality in-home health care. Recipients of the Service Award have been identified as individuals or groups who have made exceptional contributions to the home care and hospice community in New Hampshire and the Alliance.”

 

Julie was recognized as a remarkable individual who epitomizes the qualities of a transformative leader. Under Julie’s guidance, Cornerstone VNA has flourished, embracing innovation and technological advancements to provide expert care to patients. Over the past decade, the organization has doubled in size in its service area and staffing. Cornerstone VNA’s growth and success is a testament to Julie’s commitment to excellence.

 

Julie shares, “I am truly honored to receive this award and the recognition. Healthcare is a complicated system, and without the opportunity to work together through the Alliance, change cannot happen. My job is very rewarding because I work with so many dedicated and caring individuals at Cornerstone VNA. It is gratifying to know that my commitment to excellence has a positive effect.”

 

In addition to Julie’s recognition, another Cornerstone VNA team member was honored during the Alliance’s anniversary celebration. Hydi Prentice, Personal Care Service Provider, received the Alliance’s inaugural Personal Care Service Award. According to the Alliance, “Members know that personal care providers are hard-working, caring individuals who serve clients and their families every day and regard this service as more than just a job. They are here to make a difference.  This award gives providers the opportunity to reward those individuals who have committed themselves to a career in caregiving.”

 

Hydi was recognized for her commitment to providing top-notch care, ensuring her patients’ personal needs are met while maintaining a clean and safe environment and offering emotional support with a cheerful outlook and attentive ear. It was shared that her dedication extends beyond physical care, as she strives to help her patients remain in the comfort of their own homes for as long as possible. As a seasoned preceptor at Cornerstone VNA, Hydi imparts invaluable wisdom and support to new caregivers, aiding in their transformation from orientee to confident Personal Care Service Providers. Hydi adds, “It was an honor and very much appreciated to receive this award.”

 

The recognition of Julie and Hydi’s accomplishments celebrates the culture of Cornerstone VNA and their commitment to excellence. According to Erika Lee, Advancement Director, “It was a wonderful evening. The Alliance has done incredible work in supporting home health care organizations over the past 50 years.” Lee continues, “It was an honor to be joined by past leaders of the Alliance, including immediate past board chair of Cornerstone VNA, Susan Young Gaudiello, and previous CEO, Linda Hotchkiss, to celebrate our agency’s passion and dedication to ensuring patients receive the best care in the place they want to be…at home.”
