Cornerstone VNA Welcomes New Board Member

 

Rochester, NH – Cornerstone VNA, your local nonprofit home health and hospice care organization, is pleased to welcome and introduce the newest member of their Board of Directors, Mark Farrell.

 

Mark is a resident of Northwood, NH, and serves as the Director of Manufacturing Operations at Laars Heating Systems Company in Rochester, NH. He has over 46 years of manufacturing experience, which includes 40 years in manufacturing management and 36 years with Laars. His volunteer activities have included 18 years as a Scoutmaster, 10 years serving on the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors—where he chaired the board for 2 years—4 years as Vice Chair on the Gafney Home for the Aged Board of Directors, and an additional 3 years on the Frisbie Hospital Board of Trustees. Mark has also been serving as a member of Cornerstone VNA’s Fund Development Committee since December 2022. Through his years of volunteer service and his professional career, Mark brings a wealth of knowledge to the Cornerstone VNA Board of Directors with his experience in community philanthropy and outreach.

 

Mark shares, “I was so excited to have been nominated and approved to serve on the board at Cornerstone VNA. I am looking forward to continuing my goal of helping the board with my experience to further its mission and to further help our community.” According to Julie Reynolds, RN, MS, President/CEO, “Mark is a longtime supporter and is familiar with our programs and services. He is continually active in the community as a volunteer and businessperson and will be invaluable as we continue to advance the mission of Cornerstone VNA.”

Strafford County Master Gardener Fundraiser Plant Sale

Strafford County Master Gardener Fundraiser Plant Sale on May 19th from 9am to 1pm at the Durham Town Hall. County residents and visitors all welcome to check out the locally grown perennials, annuals, vegetables, and herbs. There’s an Ask a Master Gardener Table where individuals can find answers to everything gardening. We love talking about our favorite subject, gardening.

Spring Roadside Cleanup

Volunteer to help keep Madbury’s roadsides looking nice, Spring Roadside Cleanup is the week of April 22 – 26. You can get blue garbage bags for the purpose at the Town Hall during regular business hours.  John Davis Hauling will collect the blue bags left by the roadside east of and including Rt. 155 on Thursday, April 25 and west of Rt. 155 on Friday, April 26, during his regular trash hauling routine.

Easter Sunrise Service with the First Congregational Church of Barrington on March 31th beginning 6:15 am at Nippo Lake Golf Course, 88 Stagecoach Rd, Barrington. All welcome.

Easter Services at New Frontiers Church in Portsmouth at 10am. 1 Gosling Rd, Portsmouth. All are welcome!

 

Newmarket Community Church Easter Sunrise Service in Schanda Park (weather permitting) at 7am. Followed by an Easter Breakfast after Sunrise Service at 8am. Then the Easter Sunday Church Service at 10am.

All About the Eclipse

All About the Eclipse on Thursday, March 21st beginning 5:30pm at the Newmarket Public Library. A Total Solar Eclipse will darken NH’s skies on April 8th in one of nature’s most awe-inspiring shows.
